Why Adrian Peterson should be top fantasy pick

BRAD EVANS: All hail the purple Jesus. All hail. Adrian Peterson should be the number one pick in your fantasy draft this season. I know what you’re saying. He’s a 30-year-old back. He’s got over 2,300 career touches. It’s a high odometer reading. But the situation is right for him to post gigantic numbers in 2015. Look, this is an angry, violent rusher who is extremely motivated to extend his career beyond 2015. He had a full year off practically in 2014, which is great for him physically. And this is a once in a generation running back, a guy that has set the pace in per game average at the position. Since entering the lead in 2007, he’s accumulated over 65% of his yards after contact. And you look at the atmosphere in Minnesota. It is absolutely supportive and sensational for him to post these big numbers. Teddy Bridgewater, I feel, is going to make incredible advancements in year two, a guy that completed nearly 65% of his attempts the last season. You throw in Mike Wallace, the advancements, as well as Charles Johnson, a healthy Kyle Rudolph, and Norv Turner, who is running the show there offensively in Minnesota, and I think the Vikings rusher could go for maybe a career best– say 2,300 to 2,400 combined yards, 15, 18 touchdowns, 60-plus receptions. Remember, LaDainian Tomlinson had a couple of huge years under Turner’s tutelage in San Diego in 2007 and 2008. (SINGING) Purple rain, purple rain. Get Peterson on your team.
