Top 10 Worst Sports Jerseys – EVER MADE! (Bad Uniforms)

Ninh explains The Top 10 Worst Sports Jerseys
… ever made. Sports merchandise is big business. But sometimes,
you have to wonder if these manufacturers or marketing departments are all on crack,
because there’s just no way that normal people would come out with designs like these.

10. Anything new made by the NBA. For some reason, the NBA has a penchant for
making their teams wear 4 or 5 different uniforms per season. To add to that, they’ve released
their ‘earned jerseys’ – supposedly to reward teams that made the playoffs last
year, but we all know the real reason why. And whilst I don’t have a problem with teams
trying to make some money, they’re all badly designed. The Miami Heat generally look like
this … so let’s make them play in these. Cleveland’s colours are Wine and Gold, I
know, let’s make them play in Navy and Sky instead. Apart from possibly Houston and Boston,
the rest are all awful. 9. 90’s goalkeeper kits.
If you’re a football fan that’s born before 1990, you might actually remember these. This
was the era of loud goalkeeper kits. Goalkeepers in football have to have a different jersey
to the rest of the players, but how much LSD did they take before they designed these?
The scientific reason behind all this is to wear the busy patterns to confuse or distract
the opposing striker, but all they did is make everyone laugh at them. And every team
followed this trend. Every single one of them. 8. The New York Islanders.
The Islanders have the iconic look of a winning ice hockey team. So the best thing to do is
not mess with that. Stick with what works. So adding colours that aren’t part of the
colour scheme and trying to make them look bush league is probably a bad idea. Sadly,
they went with it anyway. This abomination was released onto the public, with fans instantly
calling it the worst jersey in franchise history. A few years later, they scrapped it and released
a different one, but made the same mistake. This season, they changed it again – and
they at least got the colour right, albeit it still sucks.
7. The Pittsburgh Steelers Hello Mr Roethlisburger, how would you like
to look like a bumblebee from the 50’s? Yes, I’d like that very much. That’s pretty
much how this monstrosity came about. Yes, it’s another retro jersey that has no place
being in the modern game. Who honestly thought that this was a good idea and furthermore,
who actually bought it …. oh wait, yeah …. those guys. Ohhhh…..
6. Baseball Teams in the 90’s. Baseball was also sadly affected by 90’s
design disease. Several Major League teams decided – hey, you know what – let’s
take our team logo and just plaster it across the entire jersey – who gives a damn if
it looks good or not. And to make it more unattractive, let’s put the numbers and
letters vertically and sideways so that people can’t actually read them. What were they
thinking? 5. The Colombian Women’s National Cycling
Team How do you draw attention to your countries
best female cyclists? Make them wear this. Yep, you’re seeing correctly. Partially
nude coloured uniforms. From the side, it doesn’t look too bad, but from the front
– it’s definitely suggestive and doesn’t leave much to the imagination. They became
world famous just for wearing these, so I suppose it kind of worked?
4. Stade Francais. That famous French rugby team – you know,
the one with the pink badge and the lightning bolts on their logo. No? Still don’t know
who they are? You will now, because these are the guys that wear this. Pink. Lots and
lots of pink. Somewhere in every Stade Francais jersey are pink lightning bolts and every
iteration of their kit, makes their manly rugby players look extremely soft. Every one
of their jerseys is very bad and very pink, and sadly, this is a trend that isn’t going
away anytime soon. 3. Deportivo Palencia.
Muscle fit clothing is becoming really popular these days. But how about actual muscles on
clothing? Oh no. These belong to Deportivo Palencia – and it’s not just the jerseys,
the shorts are bad too. Do these guys have some sort of sponsorship deal with Gunter
Von Hagens and his Body Worlds museum or what? And if you don’t like the realistic flesh
coloured version, you can also have the same thing in purple. Just in case you’re a weirdo
who likes purple muscles? 2. These three NHL teams.
The 90’s have stuck again, and these three teams released these three piles of garbage.
The LA Kings, who had this weird sash thing and had clearly stolen the logo of another
famous king. The Anaheim Mighty Ducks, with this cartoon thing of their mascot who’s
wearing their actual jersey – and really hard to read numbers. And the most infamous
one of all, the St Louis Blues trumpet jersey. This jersey was so bad, that the team actually
refused to wear it. They actually refused. Ironically if you can find any of these three
jerseys, they’re actually worth some considerable money now.
1. Manchester United. The most famous football team in the world have come out with some
amazing kits over the years. And more recently they’ve also come out with some of worst.
But so long as you stick to the club’s colours of red, white & black – it should be a winner.
So what the hell were they smoking, when they came up with this? Oh dear god, what have
you guys done? This is this season’s 4th kit. If you haven’t
already noticed, it’s luminous leopard print. Luminous. Leopard Print. This was inspired
by EA Sports and I think it’s officially called the digital kit, as it’s available
on computer games as a digital download. The team won’t actually wear it in real life
(thank God for that). But you can actually buy it! It’s available right now for the
princely sum of £65, so if you’re a rich person with absolutely no taste whatsoever,
this would be perfect for you. Now you might be asking me, Hey Ninh what
about Islanders Fisherman jersey? Or the Raptors cartoon dinosaur one? or the Rugby Kits where
they’re all dressed like superheroes? Well I actually like all of these … so yeah,
I probably wasn’t the best guy to describe the worst jerseys given the bad taste in clothing
that I have. But if you’ve enjoyed this video, please
be sure to like share and subscribe. And if you can think of a jersey that’s worse than
all of these, write it in the comments section below.

  1. Check out the Vancouver Canucks Flying V jerseys from the 1980's.
It should be on this list.
    Thank you for posting this.

  2. The Calgary Flames debuted a jersey at the 1998 NHL Amateur Draft that showed a snorting horse in place of the usual flaming "C". It was awful and enough fans complained that the horse was removed from the front and became shoulder patches instead. One of those soccer goalies looked really familiar…Is it possible that Lionel Richie played in the BPL? Thanks again Ninh as always from John in……Calgary!!

  3. 7:12 well most people like the Toronto one sense it was in that moment where Vince carter got the best dunk in the NBA slam dunk contest

  4. What about the Caribous of Colorado kit in their only season in the late 70s. TASSELS AND FOOTBALL JERSEYS DO NOT MIX!!!

  5. That Pittsburgh Steelers striped jersey is the best one in the NFL, hands down. But most of the rest of those are bad.

  6. Those baseball jerseys were part of a promotion called turn ahead the clock night, where they imagined what jerseys would look like in 2048. In other words, they were made to look stupid on purpose.

  7. In Aussie rules football the worst guernsey (jersey) of all time was worn by the Brisbane Bears (1987 – 1991).

  8. You're the absolute king of making perfectly reasonable statements and getting tons of dislikes because of them

  9. Disagree with a lot of these takes, but I just want to add a bit. 1) The Earned jerseys are all homages to the past or the city or something. If you read up, they all mean something that I fell connects very well with each of the cities. They aren't just some cobbled together mess. 2) Those MLB jerseys you showed were basically SUPPOSED to look ridiculous. They were all from a promotion that was a throwforward instead of a throwback. They were intentionally ridiculously "futuristic" (or retro-futuristic, to us anyways) as a couple game pronation, hence why they are so radically different (hell, the Mariners whole color scheme was different, which I think is pretty funny given their colors are literally oceans colors. What else would the "Mariners" be?) So, yeah, they suck. But that was the idea.

  10. I was born in Colombia but raised in Canada. So since I am Colombian, I am sad for the Colombian woman cycling but still love my country.
But I respect your opinions and I wont judge it.

  11. Ninh, did you know that we now have red away soccer jerseys. I love them. Oh and go lady Eagles! We will repeat and the Stars and Stripes will fly in France 🇺🇸.

  12. Try wearing a new USA jersey on The 4th of July every year. 🇺🇸 Whether you are American like me or not.

  13. Hold up, those miami jerseys are slick. It's a Miami Vice Vibe, it actually makes sense for the city even if it's not the same colors as the team. Different =/= bad

  14. I told you that we would repeat🇺🇸. And I’m sorry that I got too excited about something that you didn’t care about Ninh. I guess it’s only us Americans who care about women’s soccer.

  15. Yeah I don't think you understand the 1990's mlb jerseys. It was part of a 'turn ahead the block night' where they made jerseys that they 'thought' would be normal in the 2030's

  16. "So, who bought it? Oh, oh, these guys"…shows two pictures with a combined total of one person wearing the jersey being criticized.

  17. 4:18 Ever heard of Rajasthan Royals?? Just google their 2019 Indian Premier League jersey and you can thank me later.

  18. Carlton (AFL). They're the Navy Blues. But the time they wore light blue, due to a chocolate sponsorship, was disgraceful.
Similarly a number of AFL "clash" strips, especially the first few attempts in the early 2000's.

  19. Stade Francais is not that bad XD and it is actually iconic. When I started watching rugby, SF was the first team I could recognize and I still like them since then (Even if I don't like pink at all)

  20. The Steelers bumblebee Jerseys is laughable and I'm like "You call yourself Steelers?" as for the rugby team wearing pink Jerseys it makes it look girly not intimidating it doesn't fit in, Anaheim Ducks the cartoon character reminds me of the cartoon show back in the 90's they are called mighty ducks.

  21. The Sabres "Buffaslug" jersey, any neon green jersey (Seahawks, WLAF Orlando Thunder), the Eagles 30s yellow throwback, oh, and the time the Arena Football League incorporated Zubaz patterns in their uniforms in the 90s.

  22. Damn, two colombian jerseys showcased in this video. That actually makes me proud. And… I dont agree with 80% of this video. Most of the 90's stuff should come back, I miss that dirty look.

  23. The 1999 Ryder Cup uniforms that the U.S. team wore were absolutely hideous (and I'm saying that as an American who loves golf and the U.S. Ryder Cup team).

  24. No no no no…the worst ever jerseys are the last two kits that Bedale AFC have been wearing. I'll let you guys & gals Google for it but when you see these kits, you can't unsee them.

  25. The 90s MLB uniforms were a special "turn ahead the clock" promo (in contrast to the NFL doing their 75th anniversary throwbacks a few years earlier…the first time that throwbacks really became a thing in North American sports).

Interesting fact: a lot of "throwback" NFL jerseys became the teams "new" colors. The LA Rams had white (from 1964-1972) or yellow (1948-1963, 1973-1999) horns on their helmets before changing to gold after they won their first Super Bowl (after moving to St. Louis in 1995); after they moved back to LA in 2016, they changed back to wearing either white or yellow horns as part of their regular uniforms. The LA Chargers started out in the AFL in 1960 with light blue jerseys and white helmets, then getting to a medium blue jersey and navy helmet look in 1974, then to all navy in 1985. They wore their original AFL uniforms for a few games in the 1994 75th Anniversary season and the fans loved them, so they started wearing those uniforms more often starting in 2000 before returning to a "modernized" light blue jersey/white helmet look in 2007. I'm an NFL uniforms nerd 😛 (My favorite all-time NFL uniforms are the 2004 Cincinnati Bengals…not because they're my favorite team or anything…)

  26. Man United the "most famous team in the world" he says… What about FCB or Real Madrid? 2 teams where the best of the world actually play… We all know were you are from 😉

  27. 3:02 These 90s baseball jerseys were part of the failed "Turn Ahead the Clock" experiment, in which teams wore jerseys they thought would be popular in the 2020s. Yeah.

  28. It might be a protest. For pink being for everyone. Evenboys. Ik that's not wut u said. U said weak. Even for girls .

  29. I would rather have these and hate them than have boring uniforms all the time. But because many of them are so bad, for most of the matches/events they should wear more conservative uniforms.
