It’s the game they play in heaven but in recent years rugby union has seen more devils than angels. I think it’s having a hard time. They’re struggling, big time. It’s been better. TV ratings are tanking, fans are turning away and participation numbers are falling. People have just gone off it. and I think they’ve killed it. Have we done Super Rugby particularly well? I would say possibly not. One controversial poll claims there’s more people ballroom dancing and throwing darts than there are playing rugby. So it’s no wonder we haven’t taken the Bledisloe Cup off New Zealand in 14 years. Basically, we’re at rock bottom. [TAP FOR SOUND]
