There’s really no one direct path right? So if it is your dream to work in a professional sports team as a lawyer, there are a variety of different paths. I think step one, though, is being in a program like this, right? Your resume’s already hands-and-above better than the hundred other students who are applying for the, you know, for a job opening. That is a great start to getting your foot in the door. Um, I also, though, know there’s different paths, right? If that first job that you want as a junior attorney at an NBA team does not come to fruition right away, there’s a variety of different paths. My path was to go into a large law firm, doing, you know, corporate work, and then transition into a company that just so happened to be owned by someone who also owned a basketball team. And he moved me over to go work for the Phoenix Suns. But, I do know a lot of other people have transitioned through, you know, maybe worked at NASCAR, or major league soccer. There’s a lot of different avenues out there… Broadcasting, um, you know, there’s a lot of stand-alone promotional companies that, you know, will work with Nike and Coca-Cola and whatever. And, that gives you a great foot in your door as well. When I started three years ago, fantasy gaming was just starting, but then you see the leagues taking an active role in it. And also, you know, the sponsorship deals that come in, and the implications, and whether… is it a game of skill, is it a game of chance, is it illegal gambling…? So, I, you know, that’s something that I think is really a hot topic now. It’s, you know, the league gaming policy for employees… It’s, you know, collective bargaining issues with players… It’s sponsorship deals… How those deals work… It has implications on the state government level… It’s… That’s one of the topics where when you’re the general counsel you have your hands in everything.
