ANDY BEHRENS: Guys, today I want to talk about three overlooked and under drafted middle infielders for fantasy baseball in 2016. I have to start with Ben Zobrist, now in Chicago. He’s going to hit near the top of the Cubs batting order in a spot where he’s going to have an excellent opportunity to score maybe 90, maybe 100 runs. You look at his situation, it’s perfect from the batting order standpoint. There’s plenty of power here. He has three seasons with 20 plus homers. He’s hit over 270 in four straight seasons. There’s double digit speed potential here. He has six different seasons in which he’s stolen at least 10 bases. I don’t know why we’re not drafting this guy higher. He goes outside the top, 150 picks in fantasy drafts, very good opportunity for him to be a top 10 middle infielder in the season ahead. I think we also have to look to a guy who has relocated for this season, Jean Segura, now in Arizona. So you love the hitting environment, right? It’s a great hitter’s park, probably going to hit near the top of the order. This guy has a 44 steal season to his credit. A couple of other 20 steal seasons. He’s off to a scorching start in spring. He started out 9 for 13. Again, there’s a great opportunity here for runs scored, and for stolen bases. He’s going to hit a top, a great batting order in a friendly park. No reason you wouldn’t be drafting him. He goes outside the top 200 picks in Yahoo leagues right now. And one final name, Howie Kendrick. This guy over the last three seasons has hit over 290. You know you’re going to get double digit power and speed. You know he’s going to score runs. He is currently going outside the top 235 picks in Yahoo leagues. He doesn’t get drafted in every Yahoo league. To me that that is absolutely ridiculous. This guy needs to be owned almost universally. He is going to be a very solid fantasy play in the year ahead.
