Defending Vision – Versus Series: Sport Protective Eyewear vs Everyday Eyeglasses

[Dr. Horn] You’re at more risk when you’re
wearing, as you can see, these and you take an impact. You’re at a much higher risk. [Dr. Citek] You think you’re protected. With kids especially, polycarbonate lenses,
the lenses will hold up. Now we’ve been saying that the lenses will
hold up, there’s no question but the frame won’t. [Dr. Reichow] The lens, the frame, shape,
function, everything is the same and it’s been through 2 volleyballs 2 soccer balls 2 softballs 2 tennis balls and 2 racquetballs and a baseball. And it’s still intact, still protective, still
great, perfect quality.

  1. Great video! I am on my second pair. Best investment ever!

You will not believe how many times I have been hit straight in the eye "accidentally on purpose" (hockey term) by a badminton shuttlecock at the net. Full swing smashes. Saved my eye sight for sure. Followed by hitting my partner in the face next.

Seen the results of other players being hit in the eye by shuttlecocks and racquets. No eyewear or wearing everyday glasses. Turned around to see partner. Not something I ever want to see happen to anyone.
