ASU N’Keal Harry ESPN snub – Shot Clock

Yo, Greg Moore here, azcentral sports. We’re here on a Shot Clock with Arizona State
insider Doug Haller. And we’re going to be talking about Arizona
State football. But specifically we’re talking about N’Keal
Harry and a big major, gigantic you-can’t-believe-this kind of snub. Let’s start the clock. So Doug, what happened? Well ESPN, Greg, came out with the top 50
college football players. Now it’s a preseason list, and you know how
preseason lists are. They mean nothing! Everyone has one. But they listed the top 50 players and N’Keal
Harry is not on there. What? They mean everything! This is horrible! Now you can say that it’s the Pac-12, but
no, the Pac-12 is represented. OK. Bryce Love of Stanford, No. 2. I love Bryce Love. Right. Khalil Tate is in the top 20. Justin Herbert from Oregon is in the top 20. Myles Gaskin is there. Jake Browning of Washington is in the top
20. So I’m scrollng down, looking like, where’s
N’Keal Harry? He’s not on there. Now, could it be because Arizona State’s picked
to finish last in the South? Possibly. But I just can’t see how you can’t think that
he’s one of the top 50 players in college football. This doesn’t make a lot of sense to me when
I’m looking at it. N’Keal Harry’s preseason All-American,
right? He’s on the Biletnikoff watch list. He’s No. 34 from Sports Illustrated on their
ranking of the 100 best college football players in the nation. So does that one matter? Listen, if I’m N’Keal Harry, I’m taking this
all the way personally. I’m papering everywhere, it’s taped up, it’s
everywhere I look I’m thinking about this snub. And I’m using this as primary motivation to
go out and light everybody up. They don’t respect you, N’Keal. You gotta do better. Doug, how would you take it? Well, I’ve seen four practices so far, and
he looks the part, Greg, he really does. He looks really, really dialed in, he’s making
plays that we always see him make. But he seems like he’s on another level right
now. I think he’s going to have a tremendous year. Can you give me real quick one thing that
N’Keal can do that other guys can’t? Something that fans can watch out for and
expect to see every week? Well I mean he’s got the speed, but the one
thing is he doesn’t have to … you don’t have to go over the top to him. You can just … like the other night they
just kind of dumped off, dumped it off a quick pass to him and then he just made everybody
miss. And even Herm Edwards just said, Hey, No.
1 — across to him, across the field — Hey No. 1, just kind of gave him the thumb’s up. It was one of those plays that just left your
mouth kinda open. OK, so again, ESPN is disrespecting Arizona
State football. They’re disrespecting you, N’Keal Harry. N’Keal, it’s all up to you. You’ve got to prove these guys wrong. These lists mean everything! Again, this is the Shot Clock. I’m Greg Moore, for Doug Haller, azcentral
sports.
